How Do I Save My Progress on Super Mario Bros 2?

"Super Mario Bros. 2" was released for the NES in 1988, and re-released on the Wii's Virtual Console as a downloadable title. While it is not possible to save your progress on the original version of "Super Mario Bros. 2," all Virtual Console games come with the ability to suspend play. By suspending play, you will create a save point so that when you next load any Virtual Console game, like "Super Mario Bros. 2," you are returned to the exact point where you stopped the game.

     Press the "Home" button on the Wii Remote during a game of "Super Mario Bros. 2."

     Select "Wii Menu." Your progress is saved and the game is exited.

     Select "Super Mario Bros. 2" from your Wii's main menu.

     Select "Start." "Super Mario Bros. 2" will load at the same spot at which you quit during your last play-through.
