Rapala Wii Games

The motion controls of the Nintendo Wii lend themselves to physical actions, including the casting of a rod and reel. Fishing goods manufacturer Rapala has a series of angler games for the Wii. Some of them include rod and reel accessories so players can mimic actual fishing motions in a variety of environments.
  1. Rapala: We Fish

    • "Rapala: We Fish" from 2009 has five modes. These include 24 single and multiplayer tournaments. Four players can play on one Wii with the split screen feature. Players can play with their Miis or any of the five in-game characters. More than 50 different species of fish lurk in the waters in eight different locations, including the "Legendary Lunker," the ultimate catch in this title.

    Rapala: Pro Bass Fishing

    • "Rapala: Pro Bass Fishing" from 2010 features virtual versions of several real-life pros and freshwater North American lakes. You will have to master your equipment and techniques to keep up with the competition. Tournaments are structured like the real thing and presented as a major television event with actual fishing tournament announcers such as Barry Brueland. The game has 20 events and a season competition mode.

    Rapala: Tournament Fishing

    • "Rapala: Tournament Fishing" from 2006 was the first Rapala title for the Wii. It uses the Wii remote and nunchuk attachment to operate the controls, while the other games were all sold with a rod and reel peripheral. Players compete in more than 20 tournaments to catch walleye, trout, bass, salmon. catfish and more. The fishing locations are based on actual sites such as Lake Seminole in Georgia and Devil's Lake in North Dakota.

    Rapala: Fishing Frenzy

    • While the other games are for fishermen with "pro" ambitions, "Rapala: Fishing Frenzy" features easy controls and challenges. Of the four, this is the best one for children or beginners. The 2008 title still has a competitive element as the player can enter more than 20 tournaments. The player must know how to work the Wii controls to lure in a fish and pull it into the boat.
