How to Break Crates in Ocarina of Time

Link, the hero of "Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time," has two ways to open the crates found throughout the game. He can use a bomb to blow them open, or he can "roll" into them. The crates contain useful items such as rupees and hearts. The rupees are the game's currency, and the hearts refill the life meter of the player's character.

Instructions

  1. Bombs

    • 1

      Press the top "C" button on the controller to open the item menu.

      Press the left and right arrow buttons and select the bomb from your inventory.

    • 3

      Press "B" and set the bomb next to a crate. The bomb will explode after five seconds and destroy the crate.

    Rolling into Crates

    • 4

      Position Link so he is directly in front of a crate.

    • 5

      Press the joy stick upward and press the "A" button to execute a roll.

    • 6

      Roll directly into the crate to break it open.
