Taylor's Seeds Method

  Ring Colin's yellow bell. Taylor will not open his phone order seed store until you ring Colin's yellow bell.

  Ship 40,000 G worth of items. "Items" include crops you grow, livestock products you ship, seafood you fish and wild flora you forage. Check your status menu to see how much you've shipped.

  Ring Alan's red bell. The General Store will upgrade to Level 2. Telephones become available in the level 2 General Store.

  Purchase a telephone from Barbara's General Store in the Garmon Mine District. The store is open from 8:00 to 20:00 on all days except Thursdays and holidays. A phone costs 2000 G to 3000 G, depending on the design. All phones work the same.

  Call Taylor. You can call Taylor once you purchase the phone and display it in your home. Stand in front of the phone, select the phone and dial "Taylor's Seeds." You can call Taylor any time of day or night.

  Purchase corn seeds for 200 G per bag. You will get nine corn seeds per bag; Taylor automatically sends the bags to your inventory.

Marimba Farm Method

  Ship 30,000 G worth of crops. Only crops you grow on your farm count toward this total. Check your status menu to keep tabs on the amount you've shipped. Marimba Farm will upgrade to level 2 once you ship 30,000 G worth of crops.

  Purchase corn seeds from Marimba Farm. You can purchase corn from level 2 Marimba Farm anytime from 8:00 to 22:00 on any day except Wednesdays and holidays. A bag of corn seeds costs 100 G; you get nine seeds per bag.

  Buy decent corn from Marimba Farm if you need grown corn and don't want to wait for the seeds to grow on your farm. One decent corn from level 2 Marimba Farm costs 320 G.
