How to Get My Linksys WRT54G2 to Work With My Wii

The Cisco Linksys WRT54G2 is a wireless router based on wireless-G technology that supports a downloading speed of up to 54 megabytes per second on connected wireless devices. The router has two internal antennas that provide wireless network coverage for most homes, and the Nintendo Wii game console supports wireless network connections, including connections with the Linksys WRT54G2 model.

Instructions

    • 1

Turn on your Wii console, press "A" on your controller to go to the main menu and select "Wii" on the bottom left side of the screen.

    • 2

Go to "Wii Settings," select "Wii System Settings," click the right-pointing arrow and choose "Internet."

    • 3

Choose "Connection 1 -- None," or choose "Clear Settings" if you don't see "Connection 1 -- None," and then click on "Wireless Connection."

    • 4

Select the "Search for an Access Point" option to bring up a list of all the wireless networks within range of your Wii. Once the list is populated, select your Linksys WRT54G2's wireless network name from the list.

Enter in the security password, if you have one set up in your WRT54G2, click "OK," select "Save Settings," and choose "Yes" if you are prompted to update your Wii software.
