Wii Animal Crossings Item Checklist

Animal Crossing: City Folk is a social life simulation game for the Nintendo Wii. In the game, players live in a town with several animals that can talk, play and act as humans. The open-ended gameplay never ends and includes an internal clock and calendar to simulate a normal day, real seasons and holidays. City Folk includes several items and animals that can be collected by the player.
  1. Fish

    • Fish are abundant in the world of Animal Crossing. Using a rod purchased from Tom Nook's shop, a player can go fishing for a variety of fish. In Animal Crossing, the town will have a small holding pond, a large pond, a river, waterfall and ocean. Different types of fish are exclusive to their body of water. Frogs, for example, will only be found in the holding pond, while sharks are present in the ocean. Additionally, certain fish will only appear at a specific time of day. Some fish are only available at dawn, during the day or at night. Some common species of fish, such as carp, goldfish and mackerel, are available all day.

    Insects

    • Insects are also prevalent in the town. Like fish, insects are available at specific times of day. Players can capture them using a net purchased from Tom Nook. Insects will appear almost anywhere. Moths and butterflies will fly around the air. Other insects such as ladybugs, spiders and pill bugs will rest on flowers. Beetles and cicadas will attach themselves on trees. Other insects, such as grasshoppers, locusts and crickets, will hop around on the ground for players to catch.

    Fossils

    • Fossils are another collectible to be found in the town. Using a shovel from the shop, a player will dig into the ground in specially marked spots to collect a fossil. The unearthed fossil must be identified by Blathers in the museum to be of any use. The player then has the option of donating the fossil to the museum or selling it to Tom Nook. There are no particular times of day or seasons for which fossils appear, unlike fish and insects.

    Furniture

    • Every character has a house in an Animal Crossing town. Within the house, players can add furniture and collectibles anywhere. Paintings can be purchased from Redd's store or from Tom and friends after completing favors. Furniture sets can also be purchased from Tom Nook's store, GracieGrace's luxury store and the auction house. Additionally, players can hang wallpaper on the walls and different rugs, carpet and wood on the floor. The outside of the house can be painted a particular color for added customization.
