Component Connection
Turn off the Wii.
Connect the rectangular end of the component cable in the "Digital AV Out" port on the back of the Wii.
Connect the large green (Y), blue (Pb/Cb) and red (Pr/Cr) component cables into the corresponding "green," "blue" and "red" component inputs on the back of the Vizio VA19L. To the left of the large component cables are smaller, standard AV cables used for audio.
Connect the smaller red (right audio) and white (left audio) cables into the "red" and "white" AV ports on the back of the TV. On the Vizio VA19L, they are directly to the right of the component inputs.
Press the "Component" button on the remote to put the TV in its Component display mode. Turn on the Nintendo Wii. After a few seconds, the logo will appear and the Wii will load to the Wii channel menu.
Select the "Wii" icon on the bottom left of the Wii channel menu. Select "System Settings." Select "Screen."
Select "Widescreen Settings." Select "Widescreen" and press the "Confirm" button. Press the "B" button on the controller to return to the Screen menu. Select "TV Resolution." Select "EDTV or HDTV" and select the "Confirm" button. The Wii will now display at 480p.
Composite AV Connection
Turn off the Wii.
Insert the square end of the Wii AV cable into the "AV Multi Out connector" port on the back of the the Wii.
Insert the yellow, white and red AV cables into the "yellow," "white" and "red" AV inputs on the back of the TV.
Press the "Input" button on the remote to put the TV in its AV display mode. Turn on the Wii. After a few seconds, the logo will appear and the Wii will load to the Wii Channel Menu.
