Instructions
Move Mario with the control stick. Use the control pad to change the camera view. Press "Up" for Mario's perspective and "Down" to return to third-person view.
Press the "A" button to perform several actions, including jumping, speaking, reading, swimming, confirming an action and grabbing a pull star.
Point the Wii remote at star bits to collect them. Shoot them at enemies or objects with the "B" button. The "B" button also is used to cancel commands.
Access the pause menu by pressing either the "+" or "-" buttons.
Use the "Z" button to crouch when Mario is standing still or to dive when he is running.
Shake the Wii remote to complete various tasks, including spinning Mario, activating or picking up an object, tossing an object and swinging up vines.
Perform several different jumps with button combinations. To jump onto and off of walls, face the wall and quickly press the "A" button when you touch the wall. This allows you to wall jump up to high areas. Press the analog stick in the opposite direction when running and press the "A" button to perform a side somersault. Make Mario jump farther by pressing the "Z" button before pressing the "A" button while running. Press "Z" and "A" while standing still and Mario will do a backward somersault.
Pound the ground by pressing "A" and then hitting the "Z" button while Mario is in the air.
Jump into a launch star and quickly shake the Wii remote to launch to other planets.
