Making a "Wii Fit" Channel
You can install "Wii Fit" as a channel on your Nintendo Wii menu, which allows you to check training progress and perform a body test without inserting the game disc into the console. Do this by entering "Settings" from the Wii Fit Plaza. Select the option to "Install Channel." This will add "Wii Fit" to your Wii menu. Move this channel to a different location in the menu by putting the cursor over it and holding down the "A" and "B" buttons on the Wii remote to grab it. Drop it in another spot and release the buttons.
Favorites Menu
Avoid hunting the menus in the "Training" section of the game for your most-preferred activities. Instead, go to "Favorites" at the bottom of the section. This lists the 10 activities you have chosen the most often, in order of preference.
Weighing Objects
You can use the game and balance board to measure the weight of other objects. First, weigh yourself. Then pick up the other object (such as your dog, for example) and weigh again. By subtracting the difference you can determine the weight of other objects. Nintendo warns, however, that this trick does not work for objects that weigh less than 7 lbs. because weight differences less than this number are treated as natural fluctuation in the user's weight.
Success in Running
The jogging component of the game requires you to step off the balance board and run in place with the Wii remote in your hand or in your pocket. To score high in this exercise you should try to keep a steady pace behind your instructor. Sprinting will result in you getting a low score. You can also cheat and simply move the Wii remote up and down with your arm while standing still (or sitting down, for that matter).
