How to Put WiiWare on an SD Card

The Nintendo Wii video game console contains 512 MB of internal data storage. Game progress save files, Wii Channels and downloaded games all take up a portion of the internal data storage space. SD cards can be used to expand the storage capacity of the Wii, creating more room for your digital content. WiiWare games can be copied or moved to SD cards.

Instructions

    • 1

Insert the SD card into the SD card slot on the front of the Wii.

    • 2

Select Wii Settings from the main menu, then choose Data Management. Select Wii Channels to view a list of all installed Wii Channels. (WiiWare games are classified as Wii Channels.)

    • 3

Choose the WiiWare game you want to copy to the SD card. Select Copy if you want to create a copy of the game on the SD card, or Move if you want to transfer the game data to the SD card and remove it from the Wii's internal storage.
