Fitness Coach Games

Developed by Ubisoft, the "My Fitness Coach" games for the Nintendo Wii and DS consoles provide you with a virtual personal trainer who guides you to better fitness through workout routines and fitness and nutritional tracking. Games in this line include "My Fitness Coach," "My Fitness Coach 2: Exercise and Nutrition," "My Fitness Coach: Dance Workout," and "My Weight Loss Coach." All "My Fitness Coach" games are rated E for everyone.
  1. My Fitness Coach

    • The first game in the "Fitness Coach" series was released in December 2008. It allows you to generate a customized intense workout, led by virtual trainer Maya. While creating your workout routine, you can choose from over 500 exercises, including cardio fitness, strength training, yoga, and flexibility. The game also allows you to make goals and chart your progress with the workout calendar. The game is completely customizable, even down to the workout environment and music. You can purchase it for $29.99 from most game retailers as of March 2011.

My Fitness Coach 2: Exercise and Nutrition

    • Released in early 2010, the second "My Fitness Coach" game combines exercise and nutrition for a well-rounded fitness experience. Like in its predecessor, you're guided through a customized workout routine by a virtual trainer of your choice. Additionally, the game offers pre-loaded workouts with different focal points, including losing weight in specific areas and lowering cholesterol. The game also takes into account the your nutritional needs by including 130 healthy recipes with grocery shopping lists and weekly menu features. Also, you can make weight loss goals and track your progress. "My Fitness Coach 2" uses the Wii balance board and retails for about $29.99 as of March 2011.

    My Fitness Coach: Dance Workout

    • "My Fitness Coach: Dance Workout" was released only in Europe in 2010. It's much like "My Fitness Coach" in that it allows for customized workouts led by a trainer as well as goal tracking, but it goes a step further by incorporating Latin dance routines. Accuracy in performing the moves is tracked through use of the Wii remote. You can hone your dance skills in Practice Mode, which allows you to try out various dance routines. The game also includes warm-ups and cool-downs as well as rhythmic boxing. So far, no release date for the United States has been announced for "Dance Workout."

    My Weight Loss Coach

    • Created solely for the Nintendo DS and DS Lite, "My Weight Loss Coach" helps men and women attain healthy weights through use of a pedometer and diet tracker. Unlike "My Fitness Coach," this program is meant to have a more "on the go" approach. It educates you on healthy eating choices and creates fitness challenges, such as walking a certain distance. All physical activity is accounted for through the pedometer, which is plugged into the DS or DS Lite at the end of the day. Nutrition is monitored throughout the day and relies on you to input the foods your ate. You can also track weight loss and body mass index through the program. You can get "My Weight Loss Coach" for about $39.99 with the pedometer as of March 2011.
