Wii Gaming Secrets

Introduced in 2006, the Nintendo Wii features both regular controls and motion controls that allow players to perform functions by swinging their arms while holding the controller. You can get the most out of your Wii console if you know some of the tricks that help you play and organize your game collection.

Moving Wii Channels
- Hold down both the "A" and "B" buttons on the Wii remote while your cursor is pointed at a channel in the Wii Menu. This will "grab" the channel, allowing you to move it to a different location. Use this technique to organize the channels on this menu.
Downloaded Game Instructions
- If you need to know how to play a game you downloaded through WiiWare or the Virtual Console, hit the "Home" key on the Wii Remote and select "Operations Guide" while you are playing a game. This allows you to view detailed instructions for the game you are playing.
Homemade Sensor Bar
- Some players have used candles or other sources of infrared lights instead of the accompanying sensor bar. Space the light sources the same distance apart as the length of the sensor bar and place them on top of your television or entertainment center. This homemade sensor bar is not as effective as the one Nintendo provides, but serves as a cool parlor trick.
