Instructions
Fix the echo in the Wii Speak. When using the device, you may hear echo on the playback or live audio feed. Place the Wii Speak on a stationary object, like the top of the television or entertainment center. Keep it away from other devices and do not place it on top of a Wii controller. Sit still when talking into the microphone, and keep the room as open as possible to prevent sound bounce-back.
Adjust the volume on your television to fix problems with audio. If you use the "Wii Speak" channel and cannot hear a friend, the problem may be on the other end. Tell your friend to turn off other devices so the Wii Speak picks up only his voice.
Fix feedback from the Wii Speak by resetting the connection with a friend or adjusting the location of the mic. Do not let anyone hold the microphone while you talk -- it is not made for hand use, which causes instant feedback in most cases.
Wii Speak Power Issues
Unplug your Wii Speak if the power does not work. Press the "Power" button on the Wii console to shut it off.
Remove any other devices -- USB keyboard, hard drive, USB expansion bay -- as they could cause interference with the Wii Speak.
Plug the microphone back into the USB port, and press the "Power" button on the Wii.
Use the Wii remote to select the "Wii Speak" camera. Wait a few moments for the channel to load and connect.
Watch for the blue light to flash on the microphone, indicating it is activated and ready for use. If it does not work with the Wii Speak channel, test it with a microphone-enabled game.
