How to Play the Wii in a Small Bedroom

The Nintendo Wii and small rooms seemingly don't cooperate. You need room to move your body when playing Nintendo Wii games, and small rooms don't give you that opportunity. Fortunately, you can take steps to reduce the hassle of playing your Wii in a small room by remaining aware of your surroundings and keeping your play area clutter-free. If you don't keep the area clutter-free, you risk harm to yourself and your personal items.

Instructions

    • 1

Move any objects between you and the TV out of the way. Objects, such as coffee tables, end tables and desks, can interrupt the sensor bar's signal.

    • 2

Stand directly in front of the TV, but at least 3 to 10 feet away. If you get closer than 3 feet, you risk damaging your TV by accidentally hitting it with the Wii remote, and you'll adversely affect the sensor bar's signal.

    • 3

Clear out any objects or items within your arm span. Small rooms are inherently cluttered, but you'll to make sure that nothing is within your arm span, otherwise you may hit the object with your arms or the Wii remote.

    • 4

Designate a spot in the room to stand each time you play the Wii. That allows you to avoid placing objects within the space you stand, and you'll learn how much room you actually have to move around.
