How to Play a Wireless Wii

Connect your Nintendo Wii to a wireless Internet connection to get the most out of the gaming console. Setting up the Wii wireless Internet will allow you to access the Wii Shop Channel, where you can download games, demos and additional Wii Channels. A wireless Internet connection will also ensure you receive periodic system updates for the Wii to keep it up-to-date with the latest software from Nintendo.

Instructions

      Navigate to the "Wii" button at the bottom left of the main Wii menu screen with your Wii remote. Press the "A" button to make the selection.

      Select "Wii Settings" from the screen that loads, then click the blue arrow at the right side of the screen to navigate to the "Wii System Settings 2" page.

      Select the "Internet" option. The Internet menu will load to the screen.

      Select "Connection 1," then select "Wireless Connection." A new page opens.

      Click the "Search for an Access Point" option. Click the "OK" button on the screen. The Wii will search then list available wireless networks.

      Select your network from the list. Enter your network's security key when prompted, then select "OK."

      Click the "Save Settings" button to save the connection. Then select "Yes." The Wii will run a connection test. After the connection is verified, the set up is complete.
