How to Hide a Wii Toolbar

Online searching and Web surfing is quick and easy with the Wii Internet Channel's user-friendly browser developed by Opera. The Internet Channel can be downloaded from the Wii Shop channel at any time at no cost to the user. Once it is downloaded and initialized, the "Start" menu on the home page allows you to search, view favorite websites or type in a specific web address. The Internet Channel also includes a toolbar that allows you to zoom in, refresh pages and perform other basic navigational functions. The toolbar settings can be set to auto-hide when not in use while browsing.

Instructions

    • 1

Turn on your Wii. Select the Internet Channel from the Wii's main menu to load the Internet's start-up homepage.

    • 2

      Select the "Settings" icon.

    • 3

Press down on your Wii remote to scroll down to the "Toolbar Display" settings toward the bottom of the list of available options.

    • 4

Select "Auto-Hide Toolbar." This setting will allow you to see webpages in full-screen without the toolbar along the bottom. The toolbar will reappear when the cursor is moved to the bottom of the screen.

    • 5

Select "Button Toggle" if you want to control when the toolbar appears by pressing the "1" button. While browsing, press "1" to hide the toolbar, and press "1" again to make it reappear.

    • 6

Select "Save" to exit the settings menu and browse the Web.
