How to Use Wii Rock Star 2 Guitar With Guitar Hero

"Rock Band 2" is a music-based video game produced by Electronic Arts available on multiple consoles, including the Nintendo Wii. The goal of "Rock Band 2" is to accurately play along with rock and pop songs using one of many instruments, including the guitar. The guitars used to play "Rock Band 2" are modified controllers shaped like guitars. Similar video games for the Wii are available, including the "Guitar Hero" series. To play "Guitar Hero" using a "Rock Band 2" guitar, plug in the controller and play---the guitars are compatible with both games.

  Insert the "Rock Band 2" wireless hub into an empty USB port on your Wii.

  Insert 3 AA batteries into the back of your "Rock Band 2" guitar. Turn on your guitar by pressing the switch on the back of your guitar.

  Insert the "Guitar Hero" game disc into your Wii. Use your guitar as your controller highlight the Game Channel by flipping the pick up and down to move the cursor. Press the green button on the guitar fret board to begin playing the game. The Wii recognizes your "Rock Band 2" guitar as a compatible instrument that is usable while playing "Guitar Hero" games.
