Disconnect the pass-through adapter from the back of the HVG2 charging station and unplug it from the Wii. Inspect the socket at the back of the station for dirt or particles that could block the connection to the adapter. Check the cord for the adapter to ensure it is not frayed, worn or split, then reconnect it, securely pushing into place at both ends.
Disconnect the WiiMote controllers from the station and inspect the docking bays of the station itself. If any dust, dirt or foreign particles have been allowed to enter the bays, these can block the connection to the controllers and prevent charging. Reinsert the controllers, gently sliding them in vertically then pushing back until they sit comfortably within the docking bays. Many HVG2 Charging Station problems stem from incorrectly inserted controllers, so look for the red light at the front of the station: When this is lighted, it means the controller has been correctly inserted and the batteries are charging.
Remove the WiiMote controllers from your HGV2 charging station. Peel back the silicon skins supplied with the station and open the battery panels on the back of the controllers. Ensure that all batteries are inserted correctly with the "-" terminals of the batteries sitting on the springs of the battery bay. Close the battery panels and reconnect the controllers.
Remove the batteries supplied with the charging station and replace with new Li-Ion rechargeable batteries. Electronics retailer Danny Goulter advises, "The batteries supplied with the station will hold a charge for about three hours, but fresh Li-Ion batteries from manufacturers such as Energizer or Duracell can be charged for longer and will have a longer overall lifespan, too."
