How to Make Your Wii Disc Slot Light Up Permanently

The Wii is a home console entertainment system that can play games, view media and send messages over the Internet. The disc slot on the front of the Wii glows blue when your system receives online messages from other users. This indicates that there is new communication for you to view. If you want your disc slot to stay illuminated, you can register your own email address and reply to your Wii message. As long as you don't open the message, the disc slot will stay lit.

  Click the envelope icon in the bottom right corner of the Wii's main menu.

  Click "Address Book," then click the right arrow to see your addresses.

  Click the "Register" option, then select "Others."

  Enter your own computer email address, then press the "OK" button.

  Type in a nickname for the email address, then confirm. This will save your email address in the Wii Address Book and send an email to your computer email address.

  Log into your computer email account and reply to the message from your Wii. This will send a message to the Wii system and cause the slot to light up. As long as you do not open the message, the slot will remain lit up.
