Online Instructions for Mario Kart for Wii

Mario Kart made its debut with Super NES in the mid-90s. Today it is available, revamped and updated for the Nintendo Wii system. You can use a wheel-shaped remote to play or the regular Wii remote. The game consists of most characters from Mario Kart with a variety of courses ranging in difficulty. Another difference in the new Mario Kart is you can use the Internet to play against up to 11 players worldwide.

      Set up your Wii Internet connection under "Options" on the main menu. In order to play Mario Kart online you must be connected to the Internet. Choose your router from the list of available networks and type in your password using the keyboard on the screen.

      Insert your disk into the Wii and choose the Mario Kart option on the Wii menu. Wait for the game to load.Choose "Worldwide" from the options. Type in a name for your online profile. This will save to the Wii internally. You can use the SD memory card option if you need additional memory. Any time you use Mario Kart, you can play under this profile or create a new profile under Guest.

      Choose "Find a Friend" followed by "Vs." Here, you choose what friends you wish to play with if you want to play people you know; otherwise, you will play random people connected to the Wii network. To choose specific people, use the Wii remote to point to each player.

      Choose your character and car, and wait for others to join the race. Point the Wii remote towards the TV and choose the character you wish to play as. Use the arrow buttons and plus and minus sign to scroll through each option. Click the track you want to play to "vote" for the track you wish to race on. The top chosen track is the one that will be used for the race. The higher you qualify, the more options you have to choose from.
