How to Convert Games to Wii Games

ROM games are game files that are packaged from the original cartridges, discs or other media. While the ROM files are compatible with Wii, they must be packaged and installed as WAD files to work with the console. Using a WAD manager, you can easily install the file through the "Homebrew Channel," but you have to create the WAD first.

Instructions

  Download a WAD of the type of game file you want for your Wii. For example, if you want to convert an NES game for Wii, you have to download a random NES file. For Sega Genesis games, choose a Sega Genesis WAD file. See Resources for WAD download websites.

  Save the WAD file to your desktop. This allows for easy access when you need it.

  Download the ROM files you want to convert for the Wii. See Resources for ROM download websites. Save the ROM file to your desktop.

  Download the "Impaler Wii WAD Injector." The software runs without any installation, so just download the ZIP file, open it with an archive program and click "Extract" to open all the files.

  Open the "Impaler Wii WAD Injector" application. It features a simple interface, with three setting options.

  Click on the "ROM" icon, and select your saved ROM file. You can only do only ROM at a time.

  Load your WAD file by clicking the "WAD" icon.

  Click on the drop-down menu, and select the "ROM Type." Choose the system for which your ROM was made. Double-check that you've selected the right one, because the WAD can be faulty if you choose the wrong system.

  Click the "Inject" button. The WAD conversion is finished within a few moments.
