Power on the Nintendo Wii and press the "A" button on the Wii remote to enter the main Wii menu.
Point the Wii remote to the circular "Wii" button located in the bottom left corner of the screen. Press "A" to select this option.
On the new menu, select the "Wii Settings" option on the right side of the screen.
Press the "+]" key on the Wii remote once to scroll to the second page of options. Point to the "Internet" button and select this option.
On the new menu, select the "Connection 1: None" option. Another screen of options appears. From this, select "Wireless Connection."
For networks that broadcast the full SSID, select the "Search for an Access Point" option, and then click "OK" on the screen that shows the message "Choose the access point you want to connect to." A list of found networks should appear. Select your network from this list.
For networks that do not broadcast the SSID, select the "Manual Setup" option. Use the on-screen keyboard to input the SSID of your wireless network and continue.
Use the on-screen keyboard to input the network key if prompted.
Select "OK." Save your connection settings. You will now be prompted to run a connection test. To this prompt, select "Yes." The Wii console will now test your wireless internet connection. If all information entered above is correct, you will see a message that reads "The connection test was successful."
