Assembling Your Wii
Choose a place near your television to place the Wii console. This should be a safe place where it won't get knocked over by kids or pets. Make sure the Wii has enough room around it for proper ventilation.
Decide whether to place the Wii console vertically or horizontally. When placing vertically attach the stand plate by inserting the prongs from the stand into the bottom of the console stand. The plate should slide down to lock in place. Set the stand in your chosen space and place the Wii console into the stand.
If placing horizontally simply lay the console on its side. Save the stand and plate in case you wish to change to a vertical placement in the future.
Locate the AV multi out connector on the back of the Wii. This is located on the right side, second up from the bottom. Insert the AV multi out plug.
Insert the RCA plugs on the other end of the Wii AV cable into the TV input connections. These also can be connected to a DVD player or other audio equipment.
Connect the sensor bar by plugging it into the back of the Wii console. This is the plug next to the AV plug.
Place the sensor bar on the TV but not directly on the screen. The bar can be placed above or below the screen. To adhere the sensor, remove the protective film from the foam pads on the bottom of the sensor. Mount the sensor bar to the TV.
If placing at the bottom of the TV, place the sensor bar at the edge of the surface on which the TV is resting. The sensor should be lined up with the center of the TV screen. The sensor should have a clear path toward the area of play, as the bar relays your motions to the Wii.
Plug the AC adapter into the back of the Wii. Plug the other end of the adapter into a wall outlet.
Turn on the TV and any audio equipment you have connected. Turn on the Wii console by pressing the button on the top left of the Wii console. The Wii menu should appear and you are ready to play.
