How to Make a Component Wii Cable From a Composite

When hooking up your Nintendo Wii to a television system, you have two main connection methods. The first is composite, better known as RCA. In a composite connection, the red and white cables send the audio while the yellow cable sends a video signal. The second connection method, known as component, has three different video connection cables (green, red and blue) and a red and white audio connection. While using the Wii, you can use the red and white composite cables as the component audio connections.

Instructions

    • 1

Plug the red and white composite audio cables into the "Audio Out" ports on the Nintendo Wii.

    • 2

Insert the opposite ends of the composite cables into the "Audio In" ports on the television system.

    • 3

Attach the red, green and blue component video cables into the "Component Out" ports on the Nintendo Wii. Insert the other cables into the "Component In" ports on the television.

    • 4

Power on the TV and the Nintendo Wii. Choose "Component Video" as the input source the audio and video from the Nintendo Wii loads onto the TV screen.
