How to Connect a Wii Through iLife

iLife is a suite of products sold by Apple for use on its Macs. It includes iPhoto, iMovie and Garageband. Wii users who wish to share and view iLife files via a Wii channel can purchase Riverfold Software's Wii Transfer. A trial version with limited functionality is available for download at the website.

Instructions

    • 1

Launch Wii Transporter on your Mac. Write down the Wii Transfer Web address displayed after the program starts. This address is comprised of your computer's IP address and a port number.

    • 2

Turn on sharing for your iLife applications so that Wii Transfer will be able to see them on the Wii. Sharing is available in the preferences menu for each iLife program.

    • 3

Go to the Wii's Internet Channel and type in your Wii Transfer Web address. If you are using a fixed IP for your Mac computer you can bookmark the link as it won't change. If you are using dynamic addresses, you will have to look up the address every time you use Wii Transfer.

    • 4

Wait for Wii Transfer to load.

    • 5

Select the iLife program from the list that you want to use. You can also use other Mac programs such as iTunes.
