Setup
Place the Wii console near the router. The console should be within the recommended distance for your router. Some manufacturers recommend that devices stay within 100 feet of the router. If you are connecting to the router wirelessly, skip to Section 2.
Connect the Ethernet cable into the Ethernet port on Wii Lan adapter.
Insert the other end of the Ethernet cable into one of the router's Ethernet ports.
Insert the Wii Lan adapter's USB plug into one of the USB slots on the Wii console.
Connect to the Internet
Turn on the Wii console and select the "Wii" button in the home screen.
Select "Wii Settings," and click the forward arrow to go to the next page in the Wii System Settings menu.
Click "Internet" in the Wii System Settings menu. Select "Connection Settings" in the Internet menu.
Click "Connection 1 - None" in the Connection Settings menu.
Click "Wired Connection" or "Wireless Connection" in the Connection 1 screen. Then press "OK." If you selected Wired Connection, the Wii will test and connect to the Internet. If you selected Wireless Connection, click "Search for an Access Point." Then select the access point to which you want to connect. Enter the passkey, if required, using the on-screen keyboard. Press "OK."
