How to Unlock the Ghost in Mario Kart Wii

Released in 2008, Mario Kart Wii has entertained fans of the series with its new Wii-motion sensor controls, online play and the addition of motorbikes. As in previous Mario Kart games, Mario Kart Wii features unlockable content and the ability to race against "ghosts," which serve as a benchmark for how well you're racing. Mario Kart Wii features two types of ghosts; "Staff Ghosts," which are available from the beginning, and "Expert Ghosts," which must be unlocked.

     Enter "Time Trial" mode from the main menu.

     Select a track and challenge the "normal staff" ghost with any combination of character and vehicle.

   • 3

     Beat the normal staff ghost by approximately five seconds or more. This will unlock the "expert staff" ghost for that track.

   • 4

     Continue defeating normal staff ghosts on each track to unlock the rest of the expert staff ghosts.
