Things You'll Need
Instructions
Unplug the AC adapter from the Nintendo Wii and the power outlet for at least two minutes. Disconnect all devices connected to the Wii, including controllers. Check the adapter wire for damage or tearing that can affect the power. If damaged, replace the AC adapter with an authentic Nintendo Wii model.
Plug the AC adapter into the back of the Wii and then into a wall outlet. Do not plug it back into a surge protector or power strip initially. Verify that the power light is lit on the Wii to confirm the reset was successful. If successful, reconnect all devices and controllers.
Try a different power plug if the light on the Wii does not come on. Verify that nothing blocks the ventilation area. Keep the Wii in a well ventilated area to avoid overheating. Use a vacuum cleaner or light brush to clear the vent if necessary and repeat Steps 1 and 2.
