Turn off the Wii. Connect a Wii LAN adapter to your computer and the Wii. The adapter can be connected to your computer using an Ethernet cord. Connect the adapter's USB cable to the Wii.
Turn on your computer. Click "Start" and select "Control Panel." Click "Network and Internet" and select "Network and Sharing."
Click "Manage Network Connections" and right-click your dial-up connection. Click "Properties."
Click the "Sharing" tab and check the box to allow other users to connect through the connection. Click "OK." Start your dial-up connection.
Turn on Wii and access the "Wii Main Menu." Click the Wii icon.
Click "Wii Settings" and scroll to the second page of the settings. Click "Internet." Click "Connection Settings" and select "Connection 1."
Click "Wired Connection" and click "OK" on the next page. The Wii is now connected and will check for an update.
