How to Set Up a Nintendo Wi-Fi Dongle 360

Getting your Nintendo Wii onto the Internet involves using your console's "Wi-Fi receiver" dongle. This device receives wireless signals in a 360-degree radius around your console, meaning that it doesn't actually matter where your home's wireless router is located. Setting up the dongle involves going through your Wii's menu system and manually configuring the appropriate connection settings.

Instructions

    • 1

Turn on your Nintendo Wii. Once it is powered on, find and press the button labeled "A" on your controller. This loads the Wii's main menu. From here, select the big icon reading "Wii" from the bottom corner of the menu.

    • 2

Select the second of the two icons on the screen, which is labeled "Wii Settings." This will load the Wii system settings menu.

    • 3

Select "Internet" from the menu, followed by "Connection 1."

    • 4

Choose "Wireless," indicating that you wish to connect your Wii to the Web via a wireless connection. From the window that opens, select "Search for an Access Point."

    • 5

Click the name of your home network. If you put a password on your home network when you originally set it up, enter that password into the Wii prompt now. Select "OK." Select "Save Settings."
