How to Beat the Nintendo Wii Super Mario Galaxy Guppy

"Super Mario Galaxy" sends Mario on an adventure around the universe as he tracks down Bowser, King of the Koopas. To take on Bowser, rescue Princess Peach, and return the Mushroom Kingdom's stolen castle, he'll need the help of the stars. Stars have the ability to grant Mario power, and they are found scattered across every galaxy. In the Deep Dark Galaxy, one star may be won by beating Guppy, a speedy whale, in a race. Mario can outrace the whale by speeding through the numbered rings he drops.

Instructions

    • 1

Click on the "Deep Dark Galaxy" level and choose to play for "Star 3." You begin the level on a beach. Enter the water and swim through the tunnel toward the lake bottom.

    • 2

Swim up to Guppy and speak to him by pressing "A." Guppy challenges you to race him across the lake. Accept, and the race begins.

    • 3

Swim straight forward, over the floating mines, and go through Ring 8. From here, turn left, and swim through Ring 7, located above some sea urchins.

    • 4

Turn left and swim into the floating koopa shell to grab it and increase your speed. Steer through Ring 6, found behind the shipwreck. Steer left again, and go past the swirling water tornadoes to find Ring 5. Avoid the four squid as you swim through it.

    • 5

Turn a sharp left, and go through the fourth ring by the sea urchins. Swim straight forward through Ring 3.

    • 6

Swim right and slightly up to find Ring 2. Turn so that you are facing the middle of the lake. Go around the three water tornadoes and swim through the final ring to win the race.

    • 7

Pick up the star, your reward, from Guppy in front of the sunken ship.
