How to Earn Union Characters on Mario Kart Wii

Mario Kart Wii is a driving game for the Nintendo Wii, in which various characters from the Mario franchise race against each other. Although Mario Kart's multiplayer game play is its main selling point, the single player mode has plenty of locked bonuses to keep you interested. You can unlock 14 extra characters, to add to the 12 you start with, by fulfilling certain criteria in the single player mode.

Instructions

  Unlock Baby Daisy by achieving a "One Star" ranking or better in all 50cc Cups. Earn Star rankings by driving well. Improve your chances of earning Star rankings by staying on the track, doing tricks on ramps, and attaining a final score of 52 or better in a race.

  Get Baby Luigi by unlocking at least 8 Expert Ghosts in Time Trials mode. Each track has a Regular Ghost, and you must beat this ghost by 7 seconds or more to unlock the Expert Ghost for that track. When you have earned 8 Expert Ghosts, you can play with Baby Luigi.

  Race on 16 different tracks in Time Trials mode to unlock the Birdo character. You need only finish the Time Trial, so don't worry if you cannot beat the ghost.

  Unlock Bowser Junior by reaching at least a "One Star" ranking in all 100cc Retro Cups. It is possible to get a Star ranking without winning a race, as you are judged on your driving technique. You must achieve a final score of 52 or more to earn a Star ranking.

  Win the 150cc Special Cup to unlock the Daisy character. You must finish the Special Cup in first place to win.

  Unlock Diddy Kong by successfully completing every 50cc Cup. You can achieve this by finishing third or better in each Cup.

  Finish first in the 100cc Leaf Cup to unlock the Dry Bones character. To unlock the Leaf Cup itself, you must come in third or better in both the Banana Cup and the Shell Cup.

  Achieve a "One Star" ranking or better in all 150cc Wii Cups to play as Dry Bowser. Your driving technique is more important than winning if you want a Star ranking. You must earn a final score of 52 or higher to get a Star ranking.

  Earn the Funky Kong character by unlocking four Expert Ghosts in Time Trials mode. Defeat a track's Regular Ghost by 7 seconds or more to unlock the Expert Ghost. Beat four Regular Ghosts to play as Funky Kong.

  Win the 50cc Star Cup to unlock King Boo. You must finish third or better in both the Flower Cup and the Mushroom Cup to unlock the chance to race in the Star Cup.

  Get Mii (Outfit A) by winning the 100cc Special Cup. You must come in first to win the Cup, and you can only race in the Special Cup if you have finished third or higher in the Star Cup.

  Unlock Mii (Outfit B) by beating all 32 Regular Ghosts by 7 seconds or more in Time Trials mode. Be patient with this challenge, as it may require multiple attempts to complete.

  Get a "One Star" ranking or higher in all 8 Mirror Mode Cups to unlock Rosalina. You can compete in Mirror Mode Cups when you have finished first in every 150cc Cup.

  Unlock Toadette by racing on all 32 tracks in Time Trials mode. You don't have to defeat a Regular Ghost, but you must finish each track successfully.
