Instructions
Hold down the eject button for five to ten seconds. This ensures that contact with the eject button is registered. Brief or repeated contact with the eject button may not always be registered by the system. Pressing the eject button repeatedly confuses the machine and prevents it from ejecting a disc.
Exit all running games or applications. Exiting to the main menu stops a running program from preventing ejection, as the system is no longer trying to read the disc. If the Wii processor is busy or overtaxed, it may not register eject requests.
Turn off the Wii and disconnect it from all power sources. Let it sit for at least a full minute before plugging it back in and powering on. This clears the memory and ensures that no program errors are preventing disc ejection.
Hold the Wii at a downward angle, with the disc drive pointed toward the floor. If there is a physical problem with the drive, it may be having trouble ejecting the disc. When the disc is released from the drive spindle, gravity will help pull the disc out the drive door.
