Instructions
Perform a visual examination of the system if you plan on buying one used. Look for signs of cracking, denting or abrasions. Pay particular attention to the controllers. Because of the nature of some of the games the Wii has in its catalog, the controllers can be easily thrown accidentally if care is not taken. The controllers should have fresh batteries in them for best results.
Hook up the system to a television if it is not installed already. The power cable runs from the system to the wall outlet, while the sensor bar runs from the back of the system to either right above or below the TV, depending on where you wish it to go. Connect the A/V cables from the Wii to the input jacks on the TV.
Place a game in the system and turn it on.
Play the game for a few minutes to see how the controllers respond and how the system works for you. Switch to another game after a few minutes.
Play the second game for several minutes and then try a third one. Play games that utilize both the regular controllers and the Wii nunchuck to make sure both controller types are working effectively.
Hook up any additional peripherals that interest you, such as the Wii Fit or the Wii MotionPlus, to test them and see if you enjoy using them.
