How to Unlock Secrets in Mario Kart Wii

"Mario Kart Wii" keeps its racers coming back with the lure of unlockable characters and vehicles. By keeping at the top of the charts, you can gain access to the 13 additional characters and 18 secret vehicles. As with any video game, improving your race scores will take time, practice and a bit of luck. For the serious "Mario Kart" enthusiast, the time spent on the racetrack will be well worth seeing the game's full content.

  Win the Leaf, Special, Star and Lightning Cups to unlock vehicles. The most basic unlockable cup is the Star Cup, which is granted by achieving at least third place in both the Mushroom Cup and Flower Cup. The other cups will become available as you play through the other unlockable cups.

  Earn star rankings in each cup to unlock characters and vehicles. A star ranking is granted by using good technique on the racetrack. Staying in first place on most laps, avoiding attacks from other vehicles and keeping your vehicle on the road will increase your chances of earning a star rank.

  Play" Super Mario Galaxy" and save the game to your Wii. Then complete 50 "Mario Kart" races to unlock the Rosalina character. You do not have to complete all of these races in a row. Rosalina can also be unlocked by earning one star in every Mirror Mode Wii cup.
