How to Add Tabs to Wii

With the introduction of the Internet Channel to the Wii console, a whole new world opened up for Nintendo users. The addition of tabbed browsing adds even more; you can update social networking sites, surf through blogs, search the latest news and tweet your thoughts all at once with your Wii remote and console. Adding tabs, whether through installing the Opera browser or using tab utility sites, makes time on your Wii more efficient and pleasurable.

Instructions

      Power on your Wii console and remote. Load the Wii main menu.

      Select the WiiShop from the main menu with your Wii remote. When the initial screen loads, press the "Start" button to load the shop.

      Click "Start Shopping" and select "Channels" from the options. Scroll through the menu until you find "Internet Channel" and select it by pressing "A" on your Wii remote.

      Choose "Free" from the left side of the screen to begin the download; confirm the download when prompted by hitting "OK." This will begin the download of the Internet Channel. When you receive a notification that the download was successful, press "OK" again. Return to the main menu.

      Select "Internet Channel" from the main menu with the Wii Remote.

      Wait for the channel to load, then click on the "www" button at the bottom of the screen. From here, you will need to go to one of the utility sites that allows you to access tabbed browsing. Type "http://brentalan/wiitabs" into your address bar. Click "OK" at the bottom of the screen.

      Click on the "Star" button at the bottom of the screen, enter the address and click "OK" to confirm. This adds the tabbed browsing utility to your Favorites so that you can easily access it each time you log on.
