How to Troubleshoot Backyard Baseball for Wii

"Backyard Baseball '09" is a baseball game for the Nintendo Wii targeted at children. Either during play or while trying to load a game, a number of technical problems can arise. If you encounter a game-halting problem, follow the same troubleshooting procedure that is used for all Nintendo Wii game disc problems to see whether you can fix it yourself before replacing it or contacting technical support.

Instructions

    • 1

Press the "Eject" button on the Nintendo Wii if the game disc is still inserted. Remove the disc.

    • 2

Dampen part of a lint-free cloth with tap water.

    • 3

Place the game disc label side down on a hard, flat surface. Wipe the disc from the inside out with straight, firm strokes using the wet part of the cloth.

    • 4

Repeat the inside-out wiping strokes with the dry side of the cloth to buff and dry the disc. Allow the disc to dry for at least two minutes.

    • 5

Press the "Power" button on the Nintendo Wii if it is not powered on, then insert the game disc with the shiny side facing left if the Wii is in the upright position or down if the Wii is in the horizontal position. The game should automatically load in the "Game Disc" channel of the "Home" menu.

    • 6

Press the "Power" button on the Wii if the game still does not load. Unplug the power supply on the back of the Wii and wait for 30 seconds.

    • 7

Plug the power back in, then restart the Wii. When it loads, "Backyard Baseball '09" should be loaded in the "Game Disc" channel.
