Instructions
Unplug the power adapter from the wall and from the Wii gaming console. Set a timer for two minutes and leave the power adapter unplugged for at least that length of time.
Unplug any additional devices, cards and controllers from the Wii gaming console.
Check the power adapter for damage. Look for any frayed wires or cracked housing as either of these conditions can prevent the Wii from powering on.
Ensure that your power adapter is an official, licensed Wii power adapter. Look for the word "Wii" and the model number RVL-002 (USA) engraved into the box part of the power adapter, as unlicensed adapters may not work properly and may be the cause of your power issues.
After at least two minutes have passed, plug the power adapter directly into an electrical wall outlet and into the Wii console in the slot marked "12V IN." Look for the power light to come on and stay on to indicate that your power problem is solved. If this does not happen, plug something else that you know works, such as a lamp, into the same wall outlet to confirm that the problem is not your outlet. If the outlet is good and your Wii does not power on, contact Nintendo for further troubleshooting support and possible repair options.
