How to Use a Wireless GameCube Controller on the Wii

The Nintendo Wii video game console is "backwards compatible" with games and accessories that were designed for the Nintendo GameCube. The term "backwards compatible" means that a newer piece of equipment is compatible with older pieces of hardware or software, so you can connect your wireless GameCube controller to your Nintendo Wii.

Instructions

    • 1

Turn on your Nintendo Wii and your wireless Nintendo GameCube controller.

    • 2

Press the Nintendo Wii's "Sync" button (located on the front of the console).

    • 3

Press the "Sync" button on your GameCube controller. Hold down this button until you feel the controller gently rumble in your hands. Your wireless GameCube controller is now synchronized with your Nintendo Wii; you can use it to play GameCube games on your Wii.
