Wii Fit Board Error Can't Communicate

The flat, horizontal board that comes with the "Wii Fit" game for the Nintendo Wii is the primary way you communicate with and control your onscreen characters during gameplay. Based on your physical actions, as recognized by the board, your character will move and perform virtual actions on screen. If your Wii Fit board can't communicate with your Wii, you won't be able to play the game properly until this is fixed.

  Make sure that a video game compatible with the Wii Fit board is inserted into your Nintendo Wii console. Compatible games will indicate that they work with the Wii Fit board on their packaging. Your Wii Fit board will be unable to communicate with your console if any other video game is inserted into the system, as the board is only designed to work with very specific games that support its functionality.

  Replace the batteries in your Wii Fit board. Because the Wii Fit board is wireless, batteries must be inserted into the bottom of the board to power it. Initially, a set of batteries is included with the board for you to use. These are not rechargeable batteries, however, and they will periodically need to be replaced to ensure that the board can keep working.

  Use your Wii Fit board with the optional foot extensions if you plan on using it on anything other than a hardwood floor. Using your Wii Fit board on carpeting can alter the way the device reads your movements, which will cause problems communicating with the device and will also lead to games being played incorrectly. You can order the Wii Fit board foot extensions from Nintendo's online store or from video game retailers like Best Buy or Gamestop.
