How to Use a Wii USB Loader

If you find yourself in an environment where the only available computers are hooked up to a modem, with no available wireless router in range, a Wii USB wireless connector, or loader, can allow for five simultaneous Wii systems to operate online. This could come in handy if you're sleeping over at a house that isn't equipped for wireless Internet access--especially if you're trying to play a Wi-Fi environment game.

Instructions

    • 1

Install your software on a personal computer that is connected to a working modem (this connector was installed using the instructions for Windows XP). Turn on your computer and load the CD into the disc drive. Click "OK," select your language and select "OK" again.

    • 2

Plug your USB connector into an available USB 2.0 port on your computer--when prompted during the installation, not before. Select "OK" when prompted.

    • 3

Double-click on the Wii registration tool at the bottom-right task bar on your computer to open your system's registration tool. Leave that open, then insert a Wii Wi-Fi game into your Wii console and turn it on. Navigate to your Wii's connection settings menu, then choose "Nintendo Wi-Fi Connections Settings," then "Connect to your Nintendo Wi-Fi USB Connector."

    • 4

Click on your Wii system when it appears in the registration tool menu, then choose "Grant permission to connect."

    • 5

Select "OK" to test the connection.
