Beyond simply playing video games, the Nintendo Wii can wirelessly connect to the Internet. The Wii's web browser is based on the Opera desktop web browser. As such, it includes some of the same functionality as its desktop counterpart, like a built-in pop-up blocker. Blocking such annoyances on your Wii is simply a matter of downloading the latest Internet Channel from the Wii Shop.

     Power on the Nintendo Wii.

     Click "Wii Shop."

     Click "Start Shopping."

     Click "Wii Channels."

     Click "Internet Channel," then "Download." It is a free download. The Wii Shop channel will download the Opera web browser, with an included pop-up blocker. Once finished, the Opera browser is accessible via the "Internet Channel" in the main menu.
