How to Get Wii Upgrades

The Wii system occasionally requires updates as the company changes and upgrades the system to improve your gaming experience. Although, the Wii system does request that you update the system update when you try to shop or watch the weather, if you don't use these channels, you will need to check for updates and install them yourself.

Instructions

      Turn on the power on the Wii system. Check to see if you are connected to the Internet. After you are connected to the Internet, you are ready to check for updates.

      Navigate to the system settings. Move the controller hand over to the "Wii" symbol on the bottom-left side of the screen. Press the "A" on the controller to open the settings screen. Move the controller hand over the wrench on the screen. Press the "A" on the controller.

      Click on the arrow (>) to advance the screen to page 3 of the Wii system settings. Navigate the controller hand over the box that says, "Wii Setting Update." Press the "A" to continue.

      Read the message displayed and use the controller hand to hover over "Yes." Press the "A" button to continue. Read the terms or any other message displayed, move the controller hand over "I Accept" and press the "A" button.

      Allow the system time to search for updates. When updates are found, the system will automatically download and install them.
