How to Use a Wiimote on a Different Wii Console

Wii remotes, or Wiimotes, can be synced to a Wii console in two ways. When your controller is synced using the standard mode, the Wiimote remains connected to your console unless you disconnect it or perform a standard sync on another console. You can also perform a one-time sync on your controller, which only syncs the Wiimote to a different console until the power is turned off on the Wii. With the one-time mode, you can use your Wii remote on another console without having to repeat the standard syncing process when you return to playing on your own Wii console.

Instructions

    • 1

Turn on the Wii console. Press the "Home" button on a Wiimote that has been synced to the console using the standard setup.

    • 2

Select "Wii Remote Settings" from the bottom of the screen.

    • 3

      Select the "Reconnect" option.

    • 4

Press the "1" and "2" buttons at the same time on each controller that you want to connect to the console during this play session. The LED light will blink during the syncing process. When it stops, the connection is complete.

    • 5

Power off the Wii console when you wish to restore the standard syncs to each controller.
