Things You'll Need
Instructions
Reset the AC adapter. Unplug both ends of the adapter, one from the Wii and the other from the wall. Leave it unplugged for a full two minutes. Also unplug everything else from the Wii, such as Game Cube controllers, memory cards and LAN adapters. Ensure that the adapter is not damaged.
Check any accessories that connect to the Wii for damage. If an accessory is damaged, it can cause the Wii to shut down because it detects an error.
Check the ventilation on the Wii. It may not boot up if it is overheating or the fan is unable to spin. Place the Wii in a spot where the vent is not covered and gets maximum exposure to air. Blow the vent out with compressed air to remove any build up of dirt or dust.
Plug the Wii into a different wall outlet or surge protector. You may have tripped a breaker, or the outlet may be damaged.
