How to Get to the Secret Areas in Tundra MH3

Felyne Explorer

  Acquire a chef that has "Felyne Explorer" as a listed skill. A chef who possesses a certain skill has a chance of passing that skill along to you when you eat the food he makes. You can increase this chance by providing the chef with ingredients that correspond to his specialties.

  Eat a meal prepared by the chef in the Felyne kitchen. Repeat this process until your avatar acquires the Felyne Explorer skill himself.

  Activate your newly acquired skill and embark on a G-Rank quest in the Tundra map. Whenever you start a quest under normal conditions, there's a rare chance that your character will be randomly spawned in a secret area. When the Felyne Explorer skill is activated, though, you have a 100-percent chance of spawning in a secret area on a G-Rank quest.

Defeat Deviljho

  Choose the quest "Hunt a Deviljho" in the Tundra area.

  Fight the Deviljho. Equip a shielded weapon, for the Deviljho is a formidable opponent. When it goes into rage mode, its muscles swell and its battle scars become more exposed. The Deviljho is especially vulnerable at this point.

  Do not let the Deviljho pin you down and take bites out of you. When it does this, it regains the stamina that you caused it to lose.

  Weaken the Deviljho until it limps away to Area 1 of the Tundra. When it does this, it will limp into a hidden area, where you can acquire the dragonbone relics needed for special armor sets.
