How to Install Speak on a Nintendo Wii

Voice chat has arrived for the Wii and it goes by the name of Wii Speak. With the Wii Speak software and microphone, you can communicate to your Wii friends in real time as you play online games with them over an Internet connection. Simply plug in your Wii Speak microphone, download the Wii Speak channel, and enjoy long-distance conversations with up to three of your friends at the same time.

Instructions

  Turn off the Wii. Insert the USB connector attached to the Wii Speak microphone into an available USB port in the back of the Wii.

  Place the Wii Speak microphone on top of the sensor bar, inserting it into the grooves on the sensor bar. Position the microphone in a manner so that it protrudes slightly from the front of the TV. If your sensor bar is located at the bottom of your television, simply place the Wii Speak microphone directly on top of your TV.

  Align the microphone in the center of the television. If you have a speaker on the top of the TV, disable it if possible.

  Locate the Wii Ticket Number in the Wii Speak package. Visit the Wii Shop Channel. Select "Settings And Features," followed by "Wii Download Ticket." Enter the ticket number that came with your Wii Speak, and the Wii Speak channel will download to your channel page.

  Access the Wii Speak channel to simultaneously communicate to up to three of your friends who also have the Wii Speak microphone and channel. You can also access your Wii Speak microphone when playing games that support the feature.
