How to Use Dance Mats Without Controllers on Wii Dance Dance Revolution

"Dance Dance Revolution" is a game series where players must match movements to a scrolling set of instructions synchronized to songs. The Wii games in the series feature hand movements with the Wii's controllers. Some gamers find this added feature more difficult than regular "Dance Dance Revolution." Fortunately, the hand controls can be turned off for any song in the game, with no penalty to your score or achievements.

Instructions

  Select the mode of play you wish to attempt on the game menu. Choose characters for every player and enter the "song select" screen.

  Locate and select the options menu by scrolling through the songs until it appears.

  Select "off" for every player who does not wish to use hand controls. Use the buttons on the dance pad to navigate out of the options menu.

  Select a song and begin to play the game. The hand controls on the left and right sides of the screen will no longer be there.
