How to Search the Internet on the Wii

The Nintendo Wii has the ability to search and browse the Internet. With a Wi-Fi signal, the Nintendo Wii can connect to the Wii Shop Channel and download the Opera Internet Channel. Searching the Internet on the Wii is an activity that can be done as a family. Using the Wii to search the Internet allows everyone in the family to browse together and point out facts or links with their own Wii remotes.

      Click on to the Wii Shop Channel from the Wii menu. Click on "Start" to load the channel.

      Go to the Channels section and find the Opera Internet Channel, which is free. Click on it to download it to your Wii.

      Access the Opera Internet Channel from your Wii main menu. Click on the channel and press "Start" to load.

      Select "Search." Click the "WWW" button to enter a specific URL address. Select the "Star" button to set a page as a favorite. Change settings by selecting the settings tab. This allows you to change various Internet settings and parental locks. An on-screen keyboard allows you to type in text with your Wii mote.
