Instructions
Power on the Wii console and bring up the main Home menu. Use the remote to point to the "Wii" icon in the lower left corner of the screen.
Select "Wii Settings," then navigate to the right to find "Internet." A screen with three connection options will appear.
Select an empty "Connection Settings" profile. If you have already filled all three, choose a profile you are not going to use again.
Select "Manual Set-up" from the bottom-right corner of the screen.
Choose "Wireless" or "Wired" depending on what kind of connection you will be using. If using the wired connection, skip the next two steps.
Click the text box beneath the "Wireless" option and type in the name of your network, exactly as it appears. If your laptops and other computers connect to a network called "Linksys," for example, type in the capital L and remaining letters.
Select the type of network password your Wireless router needs to connect, and then input the password. This is the same password as on your computer and laptop. If you are not sure about the type and password, ask the person who set up the network.
Select "No" to choose your own IP address. Type in the IP Address you want your Wii console to use. If you aren't sure what the IP address you're going to use is, either open the Wireless router admin screen, or the IP config screen on your computer. For more information on this, see Tips.
Select "No" to choose your own MAC address. You will need this from your IP config or Wireless router admin screen. For more information on accessing these screens, see Tips.
Select "Don't Use" to choose not to use a proxy server. Select "Save" and don't change the MTU settings unless you have a specific one for your network.
